In 1861 John Hoar Harvey, a 35 year old tailor, lived in number 11 with his wife Alice and their 4 sons and one daughter, and their visitor, Ellen Ashley from Benson, probably a relative of Alice, whose maiden name was Ashley.
Ten years later, the next census shows that the family has grown by 4 daughters and 2 sons.
